what photos are used for texturing ?

Hi Guys,

probably a weird question but I am wondering:

If I shoot an object that has some depth - not every part of that object will be sharp in every picture. So as I scan that object, on different photos different parts of that object will be sharp (and others blurry or less sharp)

The question I have now is: how does RC determine what parts of which photos to use for texturing for the optimal sharpness of the models’ textures?

I dare the DEVs to answer this question!

Hello Heiko,

RC detects the sharp areas automatically (the algorithms behind are considered to be an internal information).

However, if you have some problematic images or you are not satisfied with the result, you can mask out the blurry areas with the apha mask.

ah - so there is some kind of hidden magic there that does the trick - I was wondering. And thanks for the tip with masking.

Yes, thank you Zuzana!
