I’m stuck between
4790k/970GTX/16GB for 1100$
5820k/970GTX/16GB for 1300$
Planning to keep cpu for 3 years+. Replace GPU on Pascal.
What do you think?
Personally I’d say go for the 5820K.
Sure the RAM is more expensive but why bother buying more DDR3 now?
Could even mildly OC it to 4Ghz and have yourself a 6 core 4790K.
5820K seems pretty good value and if you’re ready to buy/need to buy now that would be my choice.
If you’ll be saving for a while then maybe waiting it out for Skylake could be good, but those CPU’s won’t be obsolete any time soon (I’m still using an i5 750).
