What is wrong with this thumbnail image.

My submission for a map was rejected stating that I violated the following

1.11 Keep It Authentic - When promoting your island inside Fortnite, the assets (such as thumbnail images or videos) you use to represent your Fortnite island must accurately represent what players will experience in your island; you must not mislead players as to the sort of experience they will have. You may not incorporate photographs. You must not incorporate elements that mislead players with regards to XP gains, in-game items, or Quests. Where Fortnite already provides a visual element to indicate a feature to the players (e.g. the ability to earn XP in your island, or the selection border of a game tile), you must not imitate or supplement it.

I added the text in the image, and maybe that is the issue? Or does it not fit the definition of an Escape map? I’m trying to figure out how it misleads so that I can fix it and reupload a fixed image.

Below gives the details that I am going to enter into the publish fields.

  • Instructions Part 3: Gather all six keys to unveil the final exit. Will you decipher the chambers and find your way out? Good fortune awaits the clever and the swift!

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.

I am going to try highlight the levers in the image so that it gives a sense of what gameplay is like. Maybe I didn’t make the gameplay clear enough. However, with this new “highlight” of the levers it won’t look like it exactly does in the game so it might also be considered misleading.

The other thing I am going to change is to remove the island name from the thumbnail and just leave the word Escape, but on the otherhand perhaps Puzzle is a better word than Escape.

Maybe it’s the X, because it could half suggest XP ??

Ohh, ya that would make sense. I didn’t even think of it. In the game it means to multiply the two numbers together to equal another number on the right of the equal sign.

The new thumbnail passed review. It would have been interesting to test this idea out but I am pretty sure you are right on that one.
