Hello there,
We are a big architectural studio and want to get the best out of it with our workflow and presentations.
We are currently using Oculus 2 with Link Cable on a powerful pc, however, the results are not the ideal when Twinmotion scene starts to get bigger/more complex. Therefore we are looking for the best solution on the market...
Which brand/model is the company's best choice?
Hello ,
Thank you for posting your question in the community about good VR headset for Twinmotion. Here is the list of the compatible VR devices that can work with Twinmotion: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Supported-VR-Headsets-for-Twinmotion
Could you let me know what video card + memory does it have and what results in VR are bothering you or not ideal? You might need to have more VRAM. Here is a link to a webinar with great information on how to optimize your scene which could help you: https://youtu.be/NvCjWUgqCXk
You also should make sure the computer doesn't have too many displays plugged into it or other applications when doing VR to minimize unnecessary usage of hardware. If you are on a laptop is needs to be plugged in at all times.
The best quality VR experience would be to use Unreal Engine as there are better rendering methods implemented there that are not in Twinmotion. You can use the Twinmotion to Unreal plugin then adjust the scene for your VR experience.
In terms of what VR head would be best at this time for Twinmotion, it would depends on what is happening with the unwanted results. There are headset with higher sensitivity and higher definition such as the HP Reverb G2, Valve Index, Vive Cosmos Elite, and others that you can compare.
Kind regards,
Vincent B.
Hello Vincent, thanks for the comment.
Here is our current system ( however we are about to purchase a way more powerful build with 48GB RTX A6000 + Threadripper 3990x)
System Model: ROG Zephyrus S17 GX701LXS_GX701LXS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz (16 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 32768MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super with Max-Q Design
Display Memory: 24284 MB
Dedicated Memory: 8010 MB
Also a few weeks ago I've already checked the optimization suggestions on the link you shared - was greatly helpful too.
Thanks for the headset suggestions!
Do you recommend the Varjo Aero series for a high-end experience (with OpenVR), or your best suggestions would be the models/brands you shared above?
Our intention is to make a one-time good investment and have the best results so far regarding the computer build and Headset choice.
Thank you again for your support
Deeply appreciated.

Hello ,
Thank you for the follow-up and my apologies for the delayed response as I did not catch the message. At this time the Varjo Aero series will not work fully with Twinmotion or UE but we are looking into this for the future ( Varjo Aero works well with OpenVR, the VR-3 and XR-3 will not take advantage of their "Bionic display"). I recommend you go for a headset that is listed in our article, unless you can test the Varjo Aero ahead of testing it to see how it works with Twinmotion.
Hope this helps and again thanks for the follow-up.
Kind regards,
Vincent B.
