with a plugin you can add things and make things better and with open source I think is the same.
so why are youtubers using open source as a plus ?

They’re not really comparable.
Open source, means anyone can see the source code. And make changes if need be.
A plugin, is an extension to some already available program. In this case, Unreal.
Generally speaking, plugins come without source code ( not the case with UE ).
Open source is seen as a plus, because it can be maintained by many people, often leading to better standards, although not always.
Plugins can also be very good, but often not.
thank you so much !
and another question
Is unreal open source
In the sense that the source is available for everyone, yes. But in the sense that you are free to do anything you want with something developed with it, no.
Anything developed with the engine is produced in an agreement with Epic. You agreed to this before you downloaded the engine.
so if there is a bug in unreal I can go and change it. Right ?
For your own use, yes. You can also change it to do anything you want. But, it all happens under the licence agreement with Epic.
Unity does it the same right ?
I assume it’s something similar, yes. If you want something totally free from agreements, then try CryEngine ( I haven’t checked it out, but that maybe totally free ).
Cryengine doesn’t support visual scripting.
A lot of poeple say that Unity is not open source and some poeple say that its open source.
I don’t know what I need to believe.
It doesn’t matter. What does matter is the licence agreement.
and I have another question.
Does UE4 has a multi user editor tool ?
I’m assuming you mean more than one person editing at once:
Hi I have another question.
Can I add features BY MYSELF to the Unreal Engine editor using the open source code ?
Yes…
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH
Now the final question.
Do you think that this is possible in Unity ?
again thank you so much !
I don’t really know anything about Unity, but I don’t think it’s open source. So, you wouldn’t be able to mod that engine.
