What is the best way to attach an (exchangeable) mesh (non-groom/alembic) hair to metahuman 5.6 ?

I used the wardfrobe asset however I am struggling with some weight/skinning issues

I am looking to store multiple hairstyles for the mh. Sorry if thats a dumb question, im a bit lost in 5.6. I have done it in 5.3 before but here I was not able to adjust the weights as I cannot see the paint at all >.<

Just to clarify, when i exported it to Blender, and when I am checking the weights of the skeletal mesh in UE, i am unable to see any issues with the mesh being pulled.
