I’m primarily a blender user, so if this type of interpolation is prominent in MAYA, please forgive me. Simply put, I have no idea what step interpolation is when you go into animation assets to change their interpolation mode, but I thought it could be potentially useful. From what I’ve seen, all it seems to do is make animations slightly more choppier.
If you have a key set at frame 0 and another at frame 10 and the interpolation is set to step then the value on frame 0 is held inplace until frame 10 at which point the frame 10 value is used.
Generally used in stop motion as an example.
