Hi to the community!
Long wanted and now decided. Now I’m studying the engine in different courses, lessons, etc., and I immediately see how everyone does it in general, using what techniques, etc.
So far, a lot (for my purpose) has already learned how to do it, how to generate landscapes, terrains and adjust all this to the desired area of the level square, etc.
But I can’t find an adequate lesson on the map / minimap of the world, how it’s done, there seems to be a video, but there are only lessons for small levels, and for a large open world it’s not shown how I first create a texture for the map in good quality to use it for level (that is, a square in the world), as far as I understand, there should be some kind of technique to take pictures of each level in good quality and then somehow upload / upload them, for example, as the “World partition” does, but this will not work on the map unload because there you always need to keep loaded 9 levels (squares), and all this needs to be synchronized somehow and match the coordinates.
Straightawayundefined I’ll tell you why I’m interested. Because the map is the landscape, and if I don’t have information on the map in the game, it may turn out that I will create a landscape for the location, spend a lot of time, and then it turns out that with what I did it’s impossible to create a map because the coordinates not correct or the textures are bad and you can not remove good textures for the minimap, or there will still be problems. As logic tells me, the landscape and the map should be designed at the same time. If I’m wrong, correct me right away, but I need to get information on the map \ mini map and especially on the technique of obtaining the texture of game levels in good quality, because this is the most important and difficult thing that I can now implement in principle …
In general, tell me, maybe somewhere there is a good lesson on the map / mini map, so that it would be directly told what I described above. Thank you and sorry for my bad english.
