Just asking, swapping steam accounts so won’t be renewing on the one that is running and realized I’ll time out during a reconstruction before it is finished. Can I let it continue?
I’m pretty sure it pauses it and asks you to log in again.
I did have it happen to me a few times.
I should mention i wasn’t using the steam version.
my guess you’ll lose it. though you should still be able to use the temp folder and reuse the depth maps. any cpu time creating the model is probably lost though.
Hi Chris,
this is similar to my last post here: Version 1.0.2.2393 RC release
Right. So this was not cool. It doesn’t allow you to abort or save, it just says ‘Steam is not responding, please try again.’ Won’t even let me into the save menu. I’ve lost another lot of rendering as a result. Really frustrating to see all that work go because I can’t hit a save button.
I had to switch accounts as I need to use multiple steam programs across multiple computers and the Steam platform doesn’t allow that, so I switched RC to a less used account so I can run other Steam programs in parallel. Having it ditch my work as the subscription ended in the middle of a really long recon has me saying some very mean things to my computer so I’m going to cool my heels.
So it goes - still great software, please consider some more graceful exits on this software when a known subscriber is having problems, RC seems to default to ‘you’re screwed and on demo now’ when I think it should default to ‘everything is fine’ as a default state when it comes to paying customers. It can always prevent and halt things at the start of the program, in the middle like this is no good.
EDIT: Sorry for being negative, I still greatly appreciate the responses, thanks.
