May you please share with us the technical details on what “performance mode” does in Fortnite so we can adequately design our experiences for the omni-platform environment we have to support.
It’s really difficult for anyone to do their job when we have systems with 0 (zero, yes… zero) information about them available.
After using the platform for a year I still struggle to answer questions such as “why isn’t my effect pickup showing on my character in performance mode?” and then have to go through a checklist of potential scalability issues with them until I can get down to the bottom of what it could possibly be, and hope that it’s correct because the entire thing is a guessing game when it doesn’t state anywhere on the internet what “performance mode” actually does. If it just straight up disabled mesh renderers in Niagara no one could possibly know because you don’t put it on the UE, UEFN, or Creative documentation. I know that UEFN came out after Performance mode, so perhaps this was overlooked, but it’s really troublesome for development. Can we please get a documentation page or at least a forum post with the details?
It would be greatly appreciated.
