What does it mean (ms) under FPS

What does it mean (ms) under FPS ?
and what does it do?
What does this abbreviation refer to and how can it be controlled?

If you’re running at 60 FPS, each frame is taking 16.67 ms ( milliseconds ).

You can artificially set your FPS lower with the console command ‘t.maxfps 20’, for instance, but you can’t set your FPS higher than your GPU is willing to go.

Thank you

You’re welcome.
