What do you do with your finished games?

So…

I have been using Blender and UE4 recreationally for the better part of 2 years now, with RPGmaker before that, and generally playing around, learning and experimenting, with the bonus of having programming and advanced vector math as a secondary learning subject during my education.
So i consider myself well past the beginner stage, and have now obtained some skills in all parts of the game making process, but am well aware that there is far more to lea.
All of this is good and fun, and can be done from the comfort of your chair, without the need of others than the regular Google search and memberships to various sites and forums

However i tried to kick it up a notch, and sit down and plan a game from scratch, and now i have been working at a game on my own for 10 hours a day for about 3 weeks. It is still VERY far from complete, and has lots of work to be done yet. But for the first time i sense a game that is actually worth playing.

So my question to all my fellow game makers in here, is.
What do you do to get your game “out there”?

Do you contact publishers, and battle hundreds of other possible games, with a very slim chance of being the one who is chosen.
Do you create facebook pages, or other types of attention getting actions.
Any forums, or groups that are good to join.
Do you team up with others etc. etc.

What would an individual/small company creating indie games do, and what are the odds of a game breaking through to make a profit. (If there are any answers for that at all).

Hope you will take your time to answer a person, with lots of persistence, but no knowledge at all about peing at the publishing end in the gaming industry.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Daniel

Team up wih talented people to finish your game and sell it throught GoG or Steam.

I generally take my game and copy it over to a flashdisk. I then take the flashdisc and i throw it out into the street in front of my house.
The chances of someone picking up this flashdisk and installing my game outweighs the chances of someone spotting my game on google play and installing it.

Best forum comment ever without a doubt

I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for but it is an article on how to sell an indie game. (not made by me)

Haha I feel the same! 29 downloads total, all friends who saw my post about my game on Facebook and cared enough to download.

Nah but if Ill make something good I might actually try to promote it

Yes thats the trick. Marketing. Or winning the indie lottery.
