What are the worst things developers & employees experience in the industry?

I am abandoning actual dev work because I have no passion for it, and moving on to entrepreneurship. Which field I don’t know yet, just know it’s the right role for me. Perhaps it will be a video game, perhaps not.

After having worked for dozens of businesses, in other industries, both full-time and temp, I can verify that most business are run into the ground eventually, and often times it has to do with mismanagement and poor management of people. These businesses may not go bankrupt, but they sure do struggle a lot when things have gone too bad, for too long.

No one should leave work with worries and no one should dread going to work because of the company, or some of the people at the company.
When workers are taken for granted, they lose interest and only show up for the pay check, constantly wondering if they should quit for something better. A divided mind delivers but a fraction of their potential.

The greatest profit machine are employees in good spirits. They have more energy, more love for the company, better cognition and therefore, prevent problems in time. A human that is being heard, is a human that delivers. Happy worker = satisfied customer. Unhappy worker = bad reputation.

Hence, what is the worst stuff that an aspiring business owner should never let happen?
