What are the advantages of using sockets over bones for weapon attachment?
Using skeleton bones for attachment means offsetting and alignment can be done in a content creation tool such as 3ds max.
If I use bones instead of sockets, what am I missing out on?
I will like to know as well.
I believe it is for when you need to transform a socket, for example if you want to rotate whatever is held in hand, rotating the socket is easier, however rotating bones are not advised, just a guess though
