What am I getting Archicad Datasmith Link error "Unable to create/access assets cache folder"?

Anyone know why I am getting this error from my Archicad Datasmith?

It's happening for both my ArchiCad25 and ArchiCad 26 installations, with any version of Twinmotion. Mac OS Monterey on an M1 Max

Unable to create/access assets cache folder: "/var/folders/q5/gqcwy5hj49s98c_c_lzpw0qm0000gn/T/DLExporter"* Caught an exception "Error "Unknown value -2130640381" at "/Users/build/Build/++UE5/Sync/Engine/Source/Programs/Enterprise/Datasmith/DatasmithARCHICADExporter/Private/TexturesCache.cpp:345"" in FPaletteWindow - ButtonClicked

Hi ,

Information extracted from this help article:

If the Messages contains “Unable to create/access assets cache folder”

  • It means the folder path specified for the Cache Directory is no longer accessible.
  • Please click on the Manage Connections Icon and check the Path.

For macOS:

  • Click on the Folder/Change Path button at the bottom corner of the Manage Connections Window.
  • Change the Path to an accessible folder.

Note: It is important to check user permissions as well.

If these steps did not help resolve the errors. Please report a bug and provide the log file when submitting the form - Refer to this article on how to get the log file: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Where-to-find-Twinmotion-log-file

Thanks! Is there a typical folder location or somewhere in the system where the cache folder should go?

It is usually inside the UE5 folder '...\UE_5.0\Engine\Source\Programs\Enterprise/Datasmith/DatasmithARCHICADExporter/Private/'

It could be that the path no longer exists after updating Datasmith, Engine or Twinmotion. Then the error occurs.

Cheers,

Francesco
