Welcome all Unity Developers

Welcome to all the Unity Developers who have decided to join us … please check your banana in at the door.

Good … now feel free to go here: Unreal Engine 4 For Unity Developers

We trust that you will enjoy your stay and thank you for flying with Epic … 8-}

p.s. This is meant to be a “light hearted” welcome to the community … please do not take offense. My apologies if you do. 8-{

Haha. Thanks.

Pretty **** good timing on that post.
:stuck_out_tongue:

That’s slightly dismissive, qdelpeche. :expressionless:

But that is a good link for Unity Devs looking to see how to port existing projects to Unreal, nevertheless.

Was not meant to be dismissive … sorry if it came across like that. My bad. 8-{

Welcome to all new UE4 Devs, especially those from Unity. We came across last year and haven’t looked back.

The only thing that keeps me from making the change is the perfomance comparison between the two engines. Unity 5 performs as fast as previous versions. Even udk was a resource hog. Once they figure a way to improve this they’ll have another costumer :slight_smile:

Thanks, interesting announcement today by Unity but i will jump ship to UE4 anyhow. Looking forward to this path :slight_smile:

Welcome Zip99 … I hope you get the help and support you need in the forums. The community here is great and they are always willing to help when and where they can. 8-}

Hey guys, i’m a one man team, graduated in 1999 in graphic design, worked for a decade for advertising companies and doing flash animations and games until it was killed off, then jumped into 3D using various engines (remember 3D Game Studio A3 and Torque) and been working with Unity PRO (PC/MAC license $1500, Indie licence for iOS and Andro) for some years now. I have absolutely no programming experience and was able to get by using PlayMaker (a visual scripting/ FSM plugin). Mainly archviz and product demos and simple 3D games, now i’ doing a mobile game and will finish it in Unity, but after the recent U5 announcement i felt more than offended about the “personal edition” and am considering not to upgrade to 5 Pro for another $750 (cant afford the additional PRO licenses for mobile yet) to get ‘made with unity personal edition’ on my mobile products, rendering them automatically unsellable.
For years i’ve admired UDK and UE4, but stayed away because of my lack of coding skills… last night i watched some Blueprint tutorials and feel like i might just surpass my fear and jump ship. I’m not young anymore and dont have the time and skill to spend 5 years learning new stuff, but UE4 looks just that great.

Wish I’d have found that tut earlier, nearly recreated half the level :confused:

Welcome guys … the community here will always help where they can. 8-}

It might be good to make qdelpeche’s link a sticky at the top of this forum. I have a feeling that it would save plenty of people a lot of time.
