Hi
I’m trying to make a sequence with a CineCamera attached to a camera rig rail with automating rotation. The rail is built already and pretty long.
I put a Cine Camera into the world. I don’t touch location or rotation parameters (location where I dragged it in, rotation all 0). As soon as I attach the camera to the rig (with right click → attach to), the camera gets the rotation values -1.504951°, -1.878807°, 152.322708°. As soon as I start rotating the camera though, it’s not straight anymore (rolling basically). Putting the “local” rotation all to zero rolls the camera as well.
My assumption is that it’s connected to some initial small rotation offset of the rig rail which the attach just tries to compensate. I don’t know how to solve this, though.
- Lock rail direction is no option, when walking stairs the camera reacts like on a rollercoaster when looking to the side
- Track object corrects the wrong camera rotation, but I’d need to automate an extra tracking item instead of just automating the camera rotation.
- I’d like to avoid rebuilding the camera rail, I was sitting hours on this.
How can I solve this issue?
I’m on 4.20
Thank you very much
