Weird behaviour while transitioning between animations on BlendSpace1D

When I want to make transition between animations, it behaves weirdly for some reason. My character and its animations are from Mixamo

Interesting… I used models and those walking & sprinting animations from mixamo as well but didn’t encounter such an issue.

Have you tried changing the model without changing anything else, and if that doesn’t work, maybe change animations you want to blend without changing the model? I wonder if the same thing will happen again.

Can you also set the smoothing time to 0 and try that way?

maybe the run and walk animations have opposite ‘leg up’ at same times?

yeap, I tried without any smoothness and it did same as now. I will try different mixamo character, maybe the problem is character itself

I tried different walk and run animations, the result is almost same

I doubt the model or animations are faulty, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to assign those animations to that mesh. I will try troubleshooting with the same stuff myself, are everything changed from the default values on the video?

what do you mean by default value?

I meant the settings on the “asset details” window but nvm they shouldn’t be causing this.

To make sure I got the correct ones, can you tell me the names of the 2 mixamo animations you want to blend? (the blend between the first two seems fine so I think we won’t need that to reproduce the issue) And also what was the model you’re using?

Standing_Idle → Walking → Treadmill_Running

And the mesh?

her name is Megan, white shirt

couldn’t find it on mixamo, seems more like a meta human

it’s Mixamo, not Metahuman

Oh wow I typed the exact same thing but it didn’t appear yesterday. Ok I can now investigate your issue using these assets of yours

Okay so after some troubleshooting, I’ve discovered that the animation “treadmill running” is the problem as it causes the same issue on other models as well. You can use another running animation instead of that and your model will blend just fine

I also tried other animations such as jogging ones, but same behaviour happened as well unfortunately.

Interesting… I added an animation from mixamo titled “jogging” and replaced that treadmill one with it and they blended smoothly. You see the engine tries to blend them right, but you might encounter some issues when trying to blend animations that have big differences. For example, while trying to blend that walking and treadmill, the walking one might be animated to have the right step first and then the left step, unlike the treadmill one. I will try editing that treadmill animation and see if my guess is right

Hold up, solved! The treadmill animation was not a looped animation but a very long one with countless iterations. If you click on that animation, right cick on the 40th frame and select “remove frame 41 to whatever” you won’t encounter this issue!

Took a while to edit the video (it complained about the size) but wanned to add this as well:
