Regarding the UnrealEngine.com website design:
Could we please have the option to hide and/or resize the window UI decorations so we can see more of the content at any given time?
Problem: Often when reading through the documents or forum pages the actual content of the comment or manual page is squeezed into near nothingness by UI elements (the side panel, the dropdown menu bar across the top of the page, the page header, the oversized title and action buttons and so on).
Typically the user can adjust or remove these decorator elements from the page when they want more room for the information they are after. For example we are unable to, even though this worked on the previous site, drag the edge of the side panel to shrink it to minimum.
To make matters worse, not only can you not hide or resize these elements, the design in general has lots of extra space around oversized fonts for titles and such, again with no option to change them into something less layout greedy.
Solution:
- View option toggles for the different parts of the UI: side bar, header, etc.
- Font size options ex. small, med, large(default) that adjusts UI font scaling across the page, leaving regular text size the same (or with different adjustment)
- Option to maximize content panel relative to UI elements.
- Consider less empty space around design elements.
This would go a long way to making the website even more useful. Seriously, it can be ridiculous trying to browse the site on mobile. The UI takes up 80% of the screen space, leaving only a sentence or so visible of the article’s text.
