Weapon Switching

Hey guys,

So I have my side scroller character already set up to have an idle/ walk/ run/ and for him to press E and switch between holding a gun and holstering it onto his back…

But I don’t know how to switch his animation after he puts the gun on his back to go to an idle animation that no longer is the one of him holding the weapon and then to also obviously then have the walk and run animations that I already have be the ones that no longer have the weapon in his hand either.

Can anyone explain to me how to do this?

I attached a screenshot of the character blueprint/ animation blueprint/ idle run blendspace if that helps

Hi,
If I understood you correctly, you need to look into animation blending and per bone animation. What you can do is play one animation for the upper body and another for lower body, so you can have running animation for the legs and shooting for the torso.
