Weapon Not Attaching Appropriately to Actor

This is my first time posting here so I apologize for any mistakes I make.

I am currently working on attaching a sword to my character, i have almost everything worked out but when I attempt to attach the sword to my socket it “attaches” really far away. I included screenshots that will hopefully help. What am I doing wrong here?

That handled that issue but now when I grab the weapon it messes up the camera and movement controls

sidenote: why does the image file size have to be so small? I had to crop my second image so much to get it to fit.
