If you sell anything online, I think having some basic insights like who your customers are, how they found your products, what they are doing on your page, and how many page views you get is super important and valuable.
Although this was never announced, this was one of the main things I was looking forward to when Fab replaced the old Marketplace.
I thought this standard feature, which almost every marketplace has, would become a thing on Fab too. However, all we still get is the daily sales report, and we don’t even have any way to see how many people have downloaded our free products.
Here are some examples how we as sellers could react to basic information we get through analytics:
If we get no page views, we probably need to improve tags, product name or thumbnail.
If we get lots of page views, but no sales or bookmarks, probably the presentation isn’t good.
If we get lots of bookmarks, but no sales, probably the price is too high.
etc.
So PLEASE, add some analytics to Fab, like it is the case on the ArtStation Store.
Also, a Google tag integration would be a great addition.
Indeed, analytics are really needed alongside written reviews, Q&A and seller initiated sales…basic stuff that should have been available since launch and that are on any webstore…
Couldn’t agree more. We need analytics on views, wishlist additions, and add-to-cart actions.
It would also be great if the platform supported integration with tools like Meta Pixel or X Ads. This way, we could start tracking things like conversions and even have advertising campaigns to bring in more customers.
I like fab but it really baffles me how we don’t have this stuff yet. Especially seller discounts, we should at the very least be able to email support and have them setup a sale like they did on the marketplace, we know that they have the ability to put discounts on products.
Hi everyone. Thanks for that feedback! It’s on our to-do list, but I’ve shared your messages with the team so that they can see what sorts of analytics you’re most interested in.
Analytics are generally a fine tool to have, I agree it could help to optimize lot of things. But I would prefer that it is not coded like on CGTrader where if you agree to analyctis you automatically lose the right to delete any of your models. In my opinion it should be a completely detached and fully independent feature and not hooked on contracts, agreements or AI learning too (too many errors). Just statistics data and nothing more.
@skfabby What I think would be great in this department as well, is if we could get analytics for what people searched for, but could not find or did not purchase / wishlisted anything for. So maybe some sort of ‘Trends’ page / search refine option.
If I were to want to create some characters that people are actually looking for, I’d like to see trends or often searched terms, so I can see if the characters should be realistic, semi-real, cartoony, or what type of character, so casual, business, army, firefighter whatever type. That would make Fab actually great, since you can cater to whatever people are actually looking for. Not have to guess it.
It would help both sellers and buyers, as the sellers can see what people want, which increases the volume of actually searched for items, instead of random garbage that might otherwise be produced and put on sale without ever being sold. Which makes it easier for buyers to sort through everything, as the stuff that’s actually searched for will be there.
