Most of my team have twin motions 20211.4 however cannot open twinmotion files from which were done for work from previous iterations of twin motions. We have one computer running an earlier version and have checked files and the data is there. Is there a fix to this issue so we can not loose data.

Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles. I am not sure what is not working exactly without getting more information from you.
You can typically open the Epic Games launcher then select the correct version to launch and then from there you can open the Twinmotion file that was saved as 2021.1.4. Make sure not to override the old files if you are also using 2022.1.2.
