Hey guys! Really hope i can find some help on here with my current school project.
Im building a Sailing Ship project in UE 5.1 which will be powered by the Wind. I have set up very basic controls around the ship’s Z axis and have an initial Force Applied to automatically give it forward direction but i really want this to be controlled by a Wind Source.
I have been following the Epic Games (2 years old) Prototyping Sailing Mechanics Tutorial with some success up until setting up the Wind System, which the whole tutorial is actually based off a paid marketplace system, this has pretty much everything already setup ready to go, so me going forward now is becoming harder.
I have been following the Global Wind Controller by CodeLikeMe which is kind of what i want, but it is more aligned with foliage interacting with a wind source, what id like to do is somehow tap into the default Ocean System and make controls to change the Gerstner Wave Direction, which would in turn effect the ship sailing in different directions due to the water resistance/buoyancy parameters.
I realise this is a very ‘long winded’ question but i’d much appreciate anyone being able to help out anyway they can as my project is due in 2 weeks…I have some good understanding with Blueprints but not sure how to get crafty with this one.
