Hello. I’m experimenting with various aspects of unreal to learn the engine.
My latest experiment was a fishing mechanic, where i use a heightmap landscape, ocean from the water plugin and a fishing Bobber using boyancy attached to a Fishing rod.
My problem is that when using the ocean water, unless the water component have wave attenuation (default is a t 2048 i think) the waves clip through the terrain. And if i use it, the water surface will not follow the waves, and the object with buoyancy will follow the waves way down below the visible surface. At first i thought my settings for the buoyancy (this word is horrible to spell as a non-native English speaker btw) component was off, but after turning on the debug view, i could clearly see that the waves are still moving fully, while the surface is the only thing being attenuated.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
