We are having an issue with water tiles disappearing from the 4.27 Water.
This only occurs on iOS and only occurs with a close up camera facing away from the direction of travel.
We tried setting all the materials of the board to be translucent to see if that was causing the whole water tile to be culled but this had no effect. Any ideas? Appreciate any help on this.
Some of the water is still showing, so it could be due to self optimization from the iOS platform or more likely some culling issue. I would suggest to look at camera culling to make sure water and other assets doesn’t disappear if the camera view is level with the water.
Thank you for your reply Elias. I was also thinking self optimization on the iOS side given I do not have the same issue on Windows. I have explored the culling side a fair bit but will continue to do so. Would making everything to do with the character invisible be a good test of if it is a culling issue? This issue actually happens at higher elevation as well. I have tried lifting the character and board 5m above water and still experience it. It does not seem to happen if the camera looks direction down from above the character.
I don’t think it is related to the character at all. There should be some Project settings related to culling which you can tweak to see if it helps.
Is the results different on the phone and in engine?
