Water features still not working with imported heightmaps?

I had this same, exact issue in every Editor since 4.2.7… I simply can NOT get the water plugins to work in Unreal on an imported heightmap. At least, not a layered heightmap (which they don’t have an option to choose between layers or no).

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what is the solution? Cheers

I am going to attempt to re-create my map on a new level without landscape layers to see if this resolves the issue… will post back here with the results.

*** EDIT: Yup! There’s the problem. These plugins DO NOT WORK if your landscape is layered for proxy. I created a new level and re-imported my landscape. This time it imported a single unit and NOT layered, and the water plugin works fine.

Now the question is, is this a bug or by design?
