Water Buoyancy not working with large ships?!

Hi,

I’m running into an issue with the Buoyancy Component. It’s working fine on small ships. I now tried to make a large battleship and it just sinks. I can increase buoyancy on pontoons like I want. It still sinks. And I think it has to do with the grid size (green dots in debug) being way to small. But I simply can’t find anything to adjust it in UE5.4

Any ideas how to get large ships work?

Hello there @KAEPS133!

That’s a strange behaviour you are encountering, if the ships has properly placed pontoons on its corners, it should float as intended. First thing I would check, is to make sure your Water Body has the right collision preset implemented, as sometimes it loads missing from the plugin. Simply clicking the prompt on the error log will re-create the preset.

As for controlling the buoyancy for a large ship, I was able to adapt the intructions from the guide below into a medium size mesh, by experimenting with the Z axis values of relative locations, plus adjusting the buoyancy coefficient, until the boat stopped flipping. Hope this helps!
