Warmup time doesn't work on GPU particles

I don’t want to necro THIS old thread, so here’s a new one, for 4.11. The problem is exactly the same - particle warmup time works with CPU emitters, but not with GPU emitters. As I see from this old thread, they are intended to work, so is it a bug?
