I want to permanently remove games from my library, particularly the free games and free trial games which I tried and didn’t like. Where is the option to do this?
Hi Harbour, Welcome to the Forums.
I think this is an excellent feature request. I’m imagining more of a feature to ‘permanently hide’ rather than “remove”.
For now, I think the best thing to do would be to use the ‘Collections’ or ‘Favorites’ feature to organize your library. (I do realize that it would be a lot of work to manually set every game’s collection/favorite though)
Dear “Moderator” I would also like to permanently REMOVE not “hide” certain games that I do not like as well. I do not want to hide them, categorize them, or play them. I want to REMOVE them. How hard can that be?
I agree with Earthworm_78 and Harboour57, I’ve never clicked to get Fortnite, yet that thing is in my library. I will never play it, and don’t want it in my game library AT ALL
Please add this, EPIC.
My library is now just a reminder of unenjoyable games I have tried but quit, when I browse through for a game to play.
For example, instead of actually playing something, I just went through the way-too-long and quite annoying tutorial for a forum just to reply to this kind of nonchalant response you’ve made “Hey we have reasons for leaving them in your library, how about a hide feature…”
Nah pal, people want to remove stuff and not be bothered by it in an immediate fashion. Not some 15 minute long process of marking every game you have with some kind of tag to filter them out.
After seeing this no removal issue reported for several years and then going through that tutorial for the forum. It really* shows how out of touch epic is approving this kind of nonsense to make it to a consumer facing anything.
Thanks for the free games all the time though, that’s nice. For what it’s worth, I did not continue browsing my library further for something to play after noticing I couldn’t remove a game.
This feature has been requested since at least 2018 (Wanna permanently remove a game off my launcher's library - #2 by frizzank3d). I want to remove the free StarRail (which I already uninstalled) so that I stop receiving update popups. Epic? …
Seen 3.1k times. Does this mean anything? Will it matter?
Hi All, I do have an update. We have this on our backlog, we’re not sure when exactly we’ll be able to deliver functionality around this but we’re tracking it!
I’m pretty sure Epic wants all those free games we installed one time to see whether or not they were any good to stay on our library that way they can still advertise to us. Sticking to steam for most of my purchases because of this, if there is a free product I taste test then at least I can remove it when I realize I hate it.
Hello… BEYOND ridiculous that this feature request goes back to 2018. Yeah, it’s on their “roadmap”… sure…
I will not buy games on the Epic game store util this feature or something similar is complete. Family controls or similar would be suitable too.
I won’t leave Epic Games Store signed into my computer or use EGS games with GeForce Now because there are a few games in my library that aren’t appropriate for everyone in the family and some games that I’d rather just not linked to my account at all. Until I can hide/return/disassociate these games from my account buying the same game on EGS is much less useful than buying on steam.
