Wallpaper Engine

Hey everyone,

I thought this might be of interest:

It is currently on Steam Greenlight and could use some upvotes (link at the bottom).

Wallpaper Engine allows you to have stunning animated 3D scenes as wallpapers on your Windows PC. You will be able to create your own or download them from Steam Workshop. Everyone can create wallpapers, you don’t have to be a 3D modeler or game developer, but having these extra skills will allow you to make your wallpapers more unique and amazing!

Create wallpapers by importing images and models.
Build wallpapers using HTML5, JavaScript and WebGL.
Export your Unity or UE4 projects as WebGL and use them as a wallpaper.
Share your creations on Steam Workshop. Either for free or at a price of your choice.
Save power and performance by pausing or unloading your wallpaper when, for example, another application becomes full screen or is maximized.
Select different wallpapers for each monitor or lay out a single one across them.
Portable app, no installation required.
Will also run without Steam and not show that you are ‘in-game’ on Steam friends.

So if you like what you see, please drop by and show your support by up voting

Just upvoted

Thankyou very much!

Hi sorry for the Epic bump:

Wallpaper Engine is now released into Early Access on Steam !!!

It costs $4, you can turn your UE4 projects into desktop wallpapers and share on the workshop or even monetize and sell them.

Here’s the EA release trailer:

Here’s a summary of features:

@fug is it support for 360’ images?
or because it is 3D, can I … hmmm, this is an example:
I create 3D house, with some interior, can I use that model for this wallpaper engine with the view(wallpaper) is from inside house, rotate the view, moving anywhere in that 3D house? what software is required for creating our own 3D wallpaper like I said before? just general DCC software or it have built-in editor?

Well, yea. Necroing that old thread.

Great app btw.

@fug I have made an open source project to showcase how you can make your own animated wallpaper engine in UE4: Live Animated 3D Desktop Wallpaper Maker [OPEN SOURCE] - Unreal Engine Forums

I did some wallpaper scene for it with unreal engine, it works, but uses a bit too much resources. However it was cool to have moving aquarium as desktop.

@fug I worked on an open source 3D Wallpaper Engine you might find interesting to use in UE4:
