So, I found a tutorial on Youtube (How To Make A Climbing System In Unreal Engine 4 - YouTube) on how to climb a wall. For the most part, it works. The thing is that I did it in first person. Whenever I turn, the line trace turns with me; so if the line trace moves off of a surface, the player falls off.
What I want to know is how to rotate the character, while I’m on the wall, and not fall off the wall when I look away from the wall. Just in case, here’s what I’m trying to do: Doom Eternal Climb Vertical Wall - YouTube
Again, I’m trying to make a climb in first person.
Hey there @WillTake22! So I’ve got two resources for you. One is unable to turn it’s head while during the climb but is a decently simple way to get the base climbing ready, and to extend it to hold position is a quick change. Second I have a tutorial that actually goes over exactly what you’re looking for but the sound quality makes it somewhat harder to hear.
