Walking through Water

Im having trouble getting the character to walk through a physics/water volume. I wantbto be able to have my character wade through the water and have it slow you down. The problem is that when the character gets into the water, he is unable to move forward and backward if hes grounded.

Im using the default 1st person blueprint charactor with some modifications to the appearance. If there is another way to slow the character in a certain place on the map ide appreciate the advice.

There are several ways you can set this up, but the simplest way for a novice would be to have a volume surrounding your water that’s linked to a variable for character speed in the anim blueprint. So as you enter the volume, the variable is triggered to active a speed blend, (effectively slowing down or speeding up movement if desired) :cool:
