Waiting for texture resources to be ready for landscape named: landscape

The issue is as listed above. That exact alert appears in the lower right corner of the screen for Unreal 5.6 (5.6.1). It now occurs even upon opening the launcher to select a project and it will occur for any project. It causes the editor (and the launcher) to run at maybe a couple frames every 10 seconds making it impossible to actually use unreal at all. I have tried a clean install, and I have even tried removing the project from the PC and starting fresh (assuming I perhaps did something in the file that caused this). Neither of these worked. I’m trying to teach myself how to use unreal, so this is coming from someone very new to all of this. The project I was using to test things was working fine for a number of days and then I opened it up today and this persistent issue has made it impossible to use at all. Any direction on a solution would be very appreciated.

When you say re-installed…
Did you remove and reinstall just the editor?
Did you remove and reinstall the launcher?
Does opening a new blank project have the same symptoms?

The next step I would take would be to create a new temporary local user account on your machine, and then try to launch UE with a new blank project. Or perhaps better yet, remove editor and launcher, create a new temporary local user account and reinstall launcher and editor.

Of course removing the launcher is a bummer if you have installed games, but you could just try removing the editor first and if the problem is still there, follow up with the removal of the launcher.

If the editor works under the new user account, then you know more than likely that something is bugged up in that user’s AppData folder, in which case you’ll need to do some research on how to handle that properly. If it were me, I would simply search for any folders with ‘Epic’ in the name and remove them, but this might cause problems such as potentially losing any local saved games or whatnot.
