Wacom Intuos Manga Pen and Touch Small (CTH480S2)

Hey guys/gals,

I’m disabled and really cant press hard on paper Would a Wacom help me out? And what I mean is, Can I draw with it even at light presure? Does it have adjustments? If not…Any advice?

Drawing with a mouse is awful :frowning:

Yep you sure can! I use mine to draw and i have the lightest touch ever! I’m even sure you don’t have to touch the pad at all. you can hover just above the pad and it will still register, at-least it does with mine, i have an older model.

If anything you can set the sensitivity higher in the tablet settings under Control Panel in Windows. not sure about on the Mac though.

Thanks SaxonRah  I’ll go buy it then!

There’s a huge amount of customization options for the entire Wacom device line-up. You can adjust pretty much everything including the pressure sensitivity and so forth. You really don’t need to press down very hard, at all.

On top of that, they’re absolutely fantastic devices. Always go with Wacom and never the cheaper tablets, though. I find they’re often far less versatile. Yes, they are more expensive - but they’re worth it.

I’m using the Wacom Companion and a Wacom Intuos Pro (Medium). I find them both a complete pleasure to use.

Thanks DanielBennifer  Just ordered mine! Can’t wait!!! One I’m getting comes with Manga Studio Debut 4 and Anime Studio Debut 8 software…Looks like fun for side projects :stuck_out_tongue:

What software do ya’ll use for game char concept? PS or AI? Or some other ?

No problem fella! Happy to hear you’ve ordered one, they’re well worth it. Personally, I handle all my concept art work, texturing and so forth in Photoshop directly. It’s pretty much industry standard.

Though, saying that, I’m sure there are alternatives which some people would recommend. However, with the new subscription model introduced with Photoshop CC, I don’t see much of a reason for not using it!

Thank you

Yeah, look forward to the fun you’ll have with this thing! I’ve had mine for 5-6 years now and I don’t see a reason to switch to a new one. They just don’t break

You might have a bit of a problem using the quickkeys on the side of the Wacom. They are really handy and I use them all the time, but I know of people who dislike using them and get along in some other way. I think everybody has their own setup and settings for their Wacom, but I’d recommend watching some (different) videos about setting up the tablet, first. It helps a lot to see what other people do and how they use it. Best for you would probably be a Cintique or a Wacom Companion, but they are really expensive… I wish I had one, too
