Hey all, I just upgrade a project from 5.4 to 5.5 and am seeing some weirdness that I’d love to learn more about. I’m experimenting with adding a vsync option, but when I do, I start seeing these consistent waves of hitches every few seconds. My FPS at that point will warp between 45ish and 60+ fps on a 60Hz monitor.
I saw this both in the editor (with editor Vsync enabled too so I could observe there) and in packaged development builds. Unreal Insights didn’t provide a lot of useful information - the biggest draw seemed to be RHI_Translator, but I don’t think there’s much I can do about that call. I can provide that if needed. I’ve gone ahead and at least included a screenshot with some stats included. I also tried combining this with smooth framerate and setting a max cap on the FPS, to no result.
Is there something I’m misunderstanding or misusing here? I’d love to learn!
