VR mode - keeping desktop interface control

Hi all,

We are currently starting to test out unreal engine for set staging. The vr mode is great for this since we can see the world from our headset while still are able to edit the set. However it seem once we start vr mode we are losing all controls from the desktop editor interface to the one in the vive controller menu. We would prefer to keep editing in the sequencer from our desktop interface. It just easier to add animations and scrub the timeline from there. Is there anyone who knows a way to achieve this?
