VR headset menu elastic movement

I am trying to develop this VR presentation. The user can interact with a screen menu that is attached to the head device. When you move the head the screen follows this is good but since it is ‘fixed’ to the headset the movements are very ‘aggressive’ or sharp, I would rather the menu follow the headset but with a soft interpolation or elastic movement, like the Oculus interfaces.
I don’t really know how or where to start doing this. Any input is appreciated.
