VR hand animation retargeting to third person skeleton

I tried using the simplified retargeting process. That worked, but there’s a weird rotation applied to the target third person skeleton. What is causing that rotation and how to get rid of it?

How accurate are retargetd animations anyway? I made some detailed VR hand grab animations for various items and wonder if there would be a noticable difference, if they are retargetet to the 3rd person character?

Still can’t say what is causing this rotation, but it can be corrected by resetting the bone rotation of the pelvis.
