Hi, I was just wondering how to create an entire game with animation like Octopus Traveler. The problem is : i don’t think create 1000 mesh of each frame of an animation and switching with some blueprint is a great idea, and i don’t have any idea of how to do this.Project Octopath Traveler - Nintendo Switch Trailer - YouTube !
There is a video explaining how Octopus Traveler was made, although in English.
Actually I think they really did lots of work by hand.
These are sprites
Those are sprites, they are just made in Pixelart Style. So you can make them like a flipbook or via bone/mesh animation with tools like Creature 2D (from the trailer it seems, that creature 2D already has a retro pixelfilter installed):
