Vive Mocap Kit - Support

I never experienced it. VIdeo could help.
One assumption: is it possible that your customer has bad room calibration in SteamVR and floor level is incorrect, so feet trackers in VR are too high or too low?

Ok. As I said, I’ll return home to my HTC Vive at this sunday and 'll get cracking on this.

It’s your choise. In many cases, one pelvis tracker is ok. I just personally prefer real captured spine.

I’ll see if I could improve flexible spine from one tracker. I actually have one idea for that.

Yes, it makes sense.

Wow, thanks man! Good look

Does anybody have a method for improving the flexible spine tracking atm? Enter Reality you managed to get flexible spine tracking? Feel like I’m missing something because my spine is completely straight

Make sure this flag https://pp.userapi.com/c831508/v831508950/1cb59c/2qllRgb8X6M.jpg ] is checked and spine tracker is binded to pelvis, not ribcage (you can see tracker’s role in manual calibration).

Also, 4.21 supports more then 3 trackers without my patch, so it makes sense to switch to this version. The plugin for 4.21 is in the Launcher already, and project for 4.21 is here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=18wWlxogitsq1Zu-P2J8GqL3uk83aZKdS

I had that checked, so I feel like I’m doing something wrong. Should the tracker be on the side of my pelvis? Or the front or back?

Does the plugin for 4.21 have any other benefits besides the 3+ trackers? I’m guessing it’ll get rid of that glitch where it doesn’t recognize my wands sometimes, which forces me to restart my steamvr and ue4.

Also, I hate to give you more tasks, but do you plan on improving the clavicle solver?

It doesn’t matter. It just should drive pelvis bone.

No. I just think that if you start with a new project, we could put off all possible problems related to setup and to focus on the plugin itself.

Not sure about it, as I didn’t test 4.21 with VR yet.

No, unfortunately. But please write what you need, and I’ll add it to my backlog.

As for tasks for me, - don’t worry about it. It’s in my interest to make this plugin as good as possible.

As a matter of fact, I requested the Spine IK a couple of months ago, and was super quick to do the integration, and if I remember correctly now is set by default.

My tracker setup is the following:

 • Controllers for both hands
 • Trackers on Elbows
 • Tracker on Pelvis ( a bit below the belly button )
 • Trackers on both feet

Since then I never got issues with the straight spine, and that was the issue I had before did the integration, so I’m not sure why you don’t have the IK spine

Good point, I’ll start with a new project using 4.21.

I’m testing this plugin everyday so I’ll post some test on my Youtube channel on the problems that I’m having. Next test I’ll focus on the clavicles, they seem move correctly vertically a little, but not horizontally (if that makes sense)

Hmm, I have the exact same setup. I know your a very busy man, but if you get the time, can you post a 10sec clip showing Spine IK in action.

It doesn’t give me the option to install the plugin to 4.21

WIll do that on the weekend

Thanks man!

, this plugin can support up to 11 tracking points, right? Like what’s the max amount of trackers we can use

Feet - 2
Knees - 2
Spine - 2
Head - 1
Elbows - 2
Hands - 2
Clavicles - 2 - turned off temporary, because I can’t make good calibration algorithm for them.

You probably need to restart Launcher, or, may be, the plugin was automatically installed with 4.21.

Hey , I found the problem with the flexible spine. The lower part of my spine goes the complete opposite way when I move it. I think you can solve this by reversing it, hopefully that’s easy

Edit: Actually, the whole spine is going the complete opposite way. That’s why it looks so weird.

Okay, so I got a little improvement by decreasing the ā€œspine bend multiplierā€ to -0.3. But it looks like ā€œspine 01 and 02ā€ are being influenced, but ā€œspine 03ā€ isn’t being influenced at all.

As for the clavicles, I don’t have a problem with them when the arms go up and down *vertically (it still could be better), but when I move my arms left and right *horizontally, the clavicles aren’t being influenced at all. Or if they are being influenced, it’s probably extremely subtle

I just tested current version of the plugin and didn’t see these issues (non-fully stretched arms, flexible spine)
Can you make a video with these problems or show them in my video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIMXmJfmo3U - all settings are default, I slightly crouched to increase scaling)?
