I used to be able to build & compile my project from visual studio 2013 (Prof). Since I tend to work with blueprints a lot, that does not happen too often. So I’m not really sure when it broke.
My project is based on the Puzzle game editor version 4.5. In 4.6.x I was still able to build. This was my first try in 4.7.x (4.7.5 at the moment).
When building it starts 2 build processes. The project is named “T001” and that build process finishes without a problem. The other build process is for “UE4”. That one fails.

Steps I took (that didn’t help):
- remove new code
- refresh visual studio project (again after step 3.)
- verify engine version
I am able to build new projects from visual studio.
Hey TheOriginalArkless-
Just so I understand clearly, you created a project in 4.5 that you could compile in VS in both 4.5 and 4.6. Now in 4.7 you are unable to build the project in VS because the build process fails for UE4, correct? There are a few questions I’d like to ask to get additional information to help us investigate.
- Is this a personal project or something that’s being worked on as a team?
- Do you have the same compile issue with other projects or is it specific to just one?
- Was there any code added to/removed from the project between moving from 4.6 to 4.7?
If there’s any other information that you can think of that you think might be helpful please let us know.
Cheers
I’m glad to hear that you were able to get your content working again. If you are not experiencing any problems with this at the moment I will mark this post as resolved for tracking purposes, however if you do encounter the same problem again feel free to post back here and we can investigate further.
Cheers
