I am a beginner, not an advanced Unreal user/designer/artist. So maybe this project is useful for those other beginners out there.
So I am really starting from scratch, and progress is going very slow. I have a website for my project. http://unreal.fluiddynamics.eu/ . When there is some progress, I will post this in this thread. Or when I have solved one of the many problems / challenges I am facing.
I am a lecturer Civil Engineering, looking for opportunities to create a new kind of education. Linkedin: https://nl.linkedin.com/in/henk-massink-b28b927
Main goal is to educate fluid dynamics by the use of a virtual world.
List of posts in this thread (last in at the top) How to get my project on github.com Creating terrain with specific dimensions Building Dedicated Server with Visual Studio 2015
My experiences in building a dedicated server, with Visual Studio 2015.
Although there are several tutorials, each were not working 100%. Mainly because of small changes in versions.
Because my project is going to be online multiplayer, I wrote done the steps as specific as possible.
The steps can be found at Building Dedicated Server – Unreal Fluid Dynamics
I am going to check the steps regularly and adjust them if necessary.
Probably the biggest challenge was to get a level visible when starting a client. This is also a problem in some of the video tutorials. Solution was simple, just change a setting during packaging. The thing was that the setting was somewhat hidden.

So next picture looks stupid, 4 guys on a dune. But for me a moment of triumph, the server was working and I was able to start 4 clients on my computer.
In the future I hope people will help me building the project. So I decided to upload my project to github.
This was not an easy task. But in the end it happened. See post on my website
I am still not sure which files I should add to the repository and which not. Does anybody has some suggestions?
I am reactivating my project. Change of Job and moving took too much time. But I am busy again. I am following 2 courses on Udemy.
