Virtual Texturing Megascans don't import as Virtual Textures

Summary

Importing Megascans materials into a project that has Virtual Texturing enabled no longer sets the material and textures to use VT by default.

What type of bug are you experiencing?

Other

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Setup a new project
  2. Enable Virtual Texturing support
  3. Add FAB plugin to new project
  4. Using integrated FAB plugin, add any Megascans material to the project.

Expected Result

In the past when virtual texturing was enabled on the project, Megascans would automatically import new materials/textures and have them with VT enabled and using the VT master material.

Observed Result

Imported textures aren’t set to use the Virtual Texture variant like it used to.

Platform

Unreal Engine 5.5
FAB Plugin

Operating System

Windows 11

Additional Notes

If you got to Project Settings > FAB Megascans you can set the normal material to also use the VT version master material and it will then automatically use the VT material and set the textures to VT, however it will also still import duplicate textures that aren’t set to virtual texture.
