Virtual joystick sticks to it's border when touched

I’m working on a mobile project and have the default virtual joysticks enabled. Whether the project is deployed on the device or in PIE, when I touch/interact with the joysticks to rotate the camera, they immediately jump to their borders and therefore I cannot hold/stabilize the camera in place while touching them. Any ideas why this is happening?

Bug Report is marked as fixed now. Hopefully it will be included in the next update.

I am having exactly the same problem using Unreal Engine 4.27 on the Mac.
A project I have recently upgraded to 4.27 had virtual joysticks working as expected on 4.26, so maybe this is a 4.27 issue?

Most likely. I submit a bug report using this form

I have also submitted a bug report, this is bugged in 4.27. I made simple steps for them to follow, performing the same in 4.26.2 which works fine. You can’t even migrate across…

This is extremely frustrating because to deploy builds to iOS 14 you need 4.27… and this bug just further adds issues.

I am going to try Ultimate Touch Components and hope they’re not effected.

Ultimate Touch Components work as it has it’s own method of control and doesn’t use the UE4 Built in one, the library has been updated for 4.27 recently so you can make a project and migrate it across, however it does take a bit getting used to. It is far superior though.

I don’t think Epic will do anything about this until 4.27.1, lets hope they’ve seen the issue…

Same problem for me. Any solution achieved as yet?

Did Ultimate Touch Components work for you to solve this bug (by replacing the virtual joysticks altogether I presume?) in 4.27?? I’m still stuck fighting this.

I’m waiting for the an engine update. It should be fixed in 4.27.2 (Bug Report)

Thanks - buying it now and will give it a shot then. I appreciate you getting back to me as this type of problem sinks so much of my time often without knowing if it’ll ever work. Hope we get a fix before long anyway!

Much appreciated.
