Virtual camera ipad and host in two geographical locations

Hello,
I want to allow my director to control my machine to frame his shots up.
He will be using an ipad with the virtual camera app from the store.

I understand both devices need to be on the same wifi.How can we get around this limitation?
I don’t mind the lag. Is there a hack for this ?

Really appreciate any tips.

There is a software called Hamachi LogMeIn. I think you can try this.
