PRISTINE FILM GRAIN
Vintage Film utilises a bespoke film grain algorithm specifically developed for pristine reproduction of films most striking visual feature: film grain. It is based on physical measurements like negative size EI/ISO and and recreate physically correct film grain from 8mm to 15/70mm film no matter the condition.
PROCEDURAL - RESOLUTION INDEPENDENT
All effects are procedurally generated, from the film grain to dust particles. Vintage Film does not utilise any textures maps, which is light on memory. You can also scale up the resolution as much as your project demands, without showing any scaling artifacts or loosing sharpness. Stellar image quality is a key feature of Vintage Film.
EASY TO USE - EVEN BETTER WITH CINEMATOGRAPHER
Vintage Film was designed with ease of use in mind. Since we also provide a physically based camera plugin CINEMATOGRAPHER, we could make it even easier. The C++ code access in Cinematographer allows to read out dedicated parameters like sensor size, EI/ISO and aspect ratio of the film and apply them instantly. Just drag your Vintage Film into the new Film Stock slot of your Cinematographer camera and everything gets set up automatically.
BASED ON REAL LIFE REFERENCE
Vintage Film was developed in close conjunction and fine tuned with large amounts of real film references to match the formats and characteristcs of real film as close as possible.
Customization & Support
All materials are clean, organized and with easy to modify variables. The most important changes can be made directly in the material instance but, more in depth customization can easily be done in the base material. All color grades are interchangeable an can be used by all film formats for an even greater range of customization.
