I just opened Unreal 5 for the first time using the third person template and I can’t use right click and drag properly. I’m stuck in a top-down view, when I drag up, it pulls the camera back down and when I drag down, it does a 360 on the z-axis to bring me back top-down.
Hey there @NZYM3! Welcome to the community! Looks like the camera may have been put in top orthographic! No worries, you should be able to hit Alt + G to go back to perspective or you can go up to your top left of your viewport and click where it says Top and go to Perspective.
Already tried that, still happens on Perspective
Odd. I’ve seen a couple of threads on viewport problems like this, Try reloading the layout like this:
if that doesn’t work could we see exactly what’s going on? Might point us in the right direction.
Didn’t change. Unless this is an intended function I’m not sure… literally just opened the program and tried one of the starter tutorials and my camera didn’t move the same way.
I can’t upload a video as a new user so here’s a gif https://imgur.com/a/NGQwcL2
It’s that’s… really weird. I’ve never seen that movement. Alright, let’s just reset to all the defaults then. So head over to the viewport advanced settings:
There had to be a hotkey hit that changed a setting, or an input being applied from a different device? (perhaps virtual device?)
I unplugged all my other USB devices and that seems to have worked. Thanks for the help.
