Hello guys, I want to develop a video game project but before paying a developer I would like to ask if my idea can be materialized so as not to waste anyone’s time hahaha, it is basically a five nights at Freddy’s style game, I was inspired by the Ajax systems application that allows you to see all your security cameras from your mobile and I would like to bring that concept to a horror game where a security guard has to deal with ghosts. Do you think it is possible to make it 2D or do I need a 3D programmer?
You can make it 2D or 3D. I think no one has responded to you yet, because your question doesn’t make any sense.
The question is in the plot of the game, is there any sense in such an implementation.
You have said nothing about the plot of the game.
What is the question?
Can someone put a number of “virtual” security cameras on the screen, and display multiple “virtual” points of view in those cameras? Yes.
Can you make the player interact with these cameras in interesting ways? Yes, probably, if you can define what “interesting” means.
Can you build a full game based on that basic user interface idea? No; a game typically needs a setting, a story, a set of challenges, and a path to overcome those challenges.
Can you come up with an interesting story that would captivate a player, that would present interesting challenges, and where those challenges could be overcome using an interface that basically just shows some number of security cameras? Well, I have no idea. Can you?
