video

hi

this is perhaps a silly question-is there any reason not to use video images (ie take a video of of an object - output it as single frames and then use those images) is there intrinsically less info - i would of thought you may get more coherency from image to image for the reconstruction- but seeing as there is no option to reconstruct from video i take it this is not the case?

Hi finkbom

You mean Videogrammetry. The thing is that most of the used Video-codec are problematic with their strong compression and add a lot of degradation + mostly have there the rolling shutter issues too. So keep that in mind when plan to use this workflow

For now can use any sw that can convert the videos to still-frames and use say 1fps settings on the video export. Mostly the 1-fps is just enough for most stuff. would not recomend to use more then 5-FPS as get a lof of data this way.
To prevent further degradation of the stills use TIF for export.

hello, video can be used as an input since https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019940851-Version-1-0-3-6310-RC-Release
